Touch Wood International Ltd (TWIL) has been involved in various projects. From his 40 years’ experience, José Hitie highlights two main projects: the construction of The Royal Palm Hotel, a flagship of the Beachcomber Group and the renovation of the State House of Reduit. He recalls : “The Royal Palm’s construction was led by a renowned architect who wanted to work with Gurjan, a wood from Thailand. I was aware that this wood was no longer on the market and suggested Iroko, which since then, has become a very popular choice amongst local builders and architects.”

José Hitie is proud to have worked on the renovation of the State House in Reduit. “To date, this is my most audacious achievement. I am proud to say that we managed to keep about 35% of the existing wood and put them to other uses within this magnificent colonial house.”
